Early Years
Life in the Lion House School Nursery is great fun and no two days are ever the same!
The nursery class is in a large and airy room where the children have a wonderful choice of activities. Our Early Years team consists of highly qualified and well-trained practitioners, all of whom are committed to ensuring that the children have the best possible start to their schooling.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for children aged 3 years to 5 years old. Children learn through a combination of teacher and child initiated activities and, of course, play! We aim to provide a stimulating and caring environment where children feel secure and valued, which makes the transition from home to school as easy as possible.
Progression from the Nursery to Reception is seamless. The children are happy and confident to move up in the school as they already know the environment and the teachers. The Reception teacher and her assistant reinforce this smooth transition by visiting the children and parents at home prior to the start of the school year.
Both our daughters have flourished at the school, which focuses on the individual and achieves each child’s potential in a nurturing environment. The smallness of the school enables each child to work at their own pace, there is always plenty of laughter as well as learning  – Stephanie Beaumont – Nursery and Reception
